Hospitals will compare the snakebite antivenoms Anavip and CroFab...in light of Anavip’s expanded indication.

Previously Anavip was only approved for rattlesnakes. Now labeling includes copperheads and water moccasins or “cottonmouths”...similar to CroFab.

Continue to save either antivenom for patients with coagulopathy (thrombocytopenia, etc)...systemic signs (hypotension, etc)...or tissue damage (swelling, etc) that’s progressing.
