Evenity (ee-VEN-ih-tee, romosozumab) is the first med to increase bone growth AND decrease bone breakdown for postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Other osteoporosis meds do one or the other. For example, Forteo (teriparatide) and Tymlos (abaloparatide) build bone. Bisphosphonates (alendronate, etc) and Prolia (denosumab) slow bone breakdown.

Evenity is the first "sclerostin inhibitor." It's an injectable monoclonal antibody that blocks this protein involved in bone metabolism.
