FluMist Quadrivalent (intranasal live attenuated influenza vaccine) will be used again in the 2018-19 flu season.

FluMist wasn't recommended during the last two flu seasons. This was due to concerns about low effectiveness...likely because the H1N1 strain didn't replicate well enough to induce an immune response.

Now CDC is adding FluMist back to the lineup of recommended flu vaccines...since having it as an option may help boost vaccination rates.
